World wet land day was celebrated on the banks of Kakkad river on February 2nd.Students handed over a request to Zilla Panchayat President Shri. K V. Sumesh to include the river in the project "AZHUKIL NINNU AZHAKILEKKU" to conserve and clean 5 rivers of Kannur Disrict. Shri P.V. Gopinathan Nambiar ,Amrita Vidyalayam Academic Advisor, shriK.V Sumesh Zilla Panchayat President, Shri Jayapalan Master, Environmentalist Devadas Talap,and Mathrubhumi Chief photographer and seed coordinator Shri Sunil Kumar,Seed co ordinator Bijisha were present.It was an honest attempt to save the wetlands and river from pollution.
